An image of a new OnePlus smartphone has shown up online, fueling speculation on whether it’s the vanilla OnePlus 10. The OnePlus 10 Pro was launched in China earlier this year, but it has yet to make its way to global markets. However, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau recently confirmed that the device will head to North America, India, and Europe by the end of March 2022. While the ‘Pro’ model could be available globally any day now, the wait continues for the standard OnePlus 10.
Alongside the base OnePlus 10, rumors also suggest that the company is working on the so-called OnePlus 10 Ultra that will represent its top offering this year. Concept renders of that device showed up earlier this month, giving people an idea on what it might look like. The renders were based on patents filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office last September, and showcased the OnePlus 10 Ultra from all sides.

An image posted on Chinese social media site Weibo shows what seems to be a OnePlus smartphone from the back. The photo shows two units of what look to be the same device, one in black and one in white. The design element that immediately catches the eye is the camera housing, which looks completely different from the OnePlus 10 Pro. The new image shows the housing is located in the top-left corner and includes a large camera cutout at the top, with two or three smaller cutouts around it. There’s also what looks like an LED flash on one side of the housing.
First Look At The OnePlus 10?
It is worth noting that there’s no guarantee this is the vanilla OnePlus 10 model. Indeed, there’s no guarantee that such a device will even be launched this year. There’s also some talk that it could be the OnePlus Nord 3 instead of the OnePlus 10, with no way to tell one way or the other at this point. Either way, things will hopefully become clearer in the coming days.
While the latest leak doesn’t say anything about the specs of the device in question, prior experience suggests that the OnePlus 10 might ship with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 under the hood. That said, earlier rumors have claimed that a OnePlus 10 model might ship with a MediaTek chipset, so this also remains a debated point right now. There is also the question of whether the standard OnePlus 10 ill include the OnePlus 10 Pro’s 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, or if that will be reserved for the Pro model. Needless to say, there probably will be plenty more OnePlus leaks in the near future, so they hopefully will help to answer some of the remaining roadmap questions.
