How To Get The Pride Threads Apple Watch Face & Why It Isn’t Working

The Pride Threads watch face is Apple‘s latest Pride-themed Apple Watch face, and while it looks outstanding, actually getting it on your Apple Watch could prove to be a little tricky. In the years that we’ve had the Apple Watch, Apple‘s consistently added new watch faces to keep things looking and feeling fresh. Today, you can have a watch face with Portrait Mode photos, animated water effects, personalized Siri cards, custom Memoji, and more.
Since 2018, some of those watch faces have included Pride-themed ones. Around late May/early June of each year, Apple launches one (or two) Pride watch faces in honor of Pride Month. Apple has added multiple Pride watch faces between 2018 and 2021, giving users a few different ways to express themselves. And in May 2022, Apple grew the Pride face collection by one more with the Pride Threads watch face.

While Apple Watch faces are a very subjective thing, we’re inclined to say that the Pride Threads face is one of the best Pride options yet. The watch face shows a digital clock in the center created out of various lines of rainbow colors. Those lines are inspired by the Pride Edition Sport Loop band, and when wearing that band with the Pride Threads face, the whole package looks incredibly sleek. But even if you don’t have the Pride Edition Sport Loop band, you can still get the Pride Threads watch face on your Apple Watch right now. Simply open the Watch app on your iPhone and tap ‘Face Gallery’ at the bottom of the screen. The Pride Threads face should appear at the top of the screen under ‘New Watch Faces.’ If it doesn’t, scroll down the screen until you find the ‘Pride’ section and select it from there. Select if you want a white or black background for the Pride Threads face, and then tap the ‘Add’ button to add it to your Apple Watch.
Why The Pride Threads Watch Face Isn’t Showing Up
Adding the Pride Threads face to your Apple Watch is simple enough. Right? Although it’s supposed to be, some people may notice that the Pride Threads face isn’t showing up for them. If that’s the case, there are a couple of explanations as to why it isn’t working.
For starters, you can only use the Pride Threads watch face if you have an Apple Watch Series 4 or newer. Anything from the Apple Watch Series 3 and older isn’t compatible, so that could be why you don’t have the Pride Threads face. If you do have a compatible Apple Watch and you still can’t find Pride Threads, another possibility is that your Apple Watch needs a software update. To check for an update, open the Watch app on your iPhone, tap ‘General,’ and tap ‘Software Update.’ Your Apple Watch needs to be running watchOS 8.6 or later, so be sure to download an update if one’s available.
Similarly, you also need a compatible iPhone for the Pride Threads watch face to work. Apple requires you to have an iPhone 6s or later running iOS 15.5. To check and see if an iOS update is available, open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap ‘General,’ tap ‘Software Update,’ and see if there’s an update waiting for you. Follow these steps, and you’ll be rocking Apple’s Pride Threads watch face in no time at all.
