Like all modern smartphones, iPhones allow users to set, change and turn off alarms. Ever since smartphones went mainstream years ago, their built-in features have allowed them to entirely replace some devices. These include alarm clocks, cameras, calculators, flashlights, portable music players, and handheld recorders, to name a few. All these functions are built natively into an iPhone and can be accessed through its various apps.
The Clock app on an iPhone might seem simplistic at first glance, but there are several controls that allow users to customize alarms to their liking. For instance, users can not only set an alarm sound of their choice but also set a vibration pattern or create a new one entirely. Users can even set a song as their alarm sound or download tones from the iTunes Store.

There are a couple of ways to set an alarm on an iPhone. The simplest way is to ask Siri to do it. All a user needs to say “Hey Siri, set an alarm for 7AM“, and a pop-up will appear on the screen confirming the alarm time. The second way to set an alarm is through the Clock app. Open the app and click on the ‘+’ sign at the top right corner. After setting the time, users can choose to modify additional settings, such as which days of the week the alarm repeats, which alarm sound is played, and whether the snooze button is enabled. Users can also label an alarm. For example, setting a daily alarm to take medication can be labeled ‘Take Pills‘. Once done making changes, click on Save. After an alarm is set, users can click on the Edit button in the Clock app. This will bring up the option to delete the alarm by clicking on the red ‘-‘ icon. Alternatively, click on the alarm to modify the time or any other settings. An alarm can be turned off by clicking on the green toggle next to it.
How To Change iPhone Sleep Schedule Alarms
Apart from regular alarms, iPhone users can also use Sleep Schedule alarms. The Sleep Schedule option can be set up in the Health app, but alarms are displayed in the Clock app. To set up a Sleep Schedule, click on the Change button next to the Sleep | Wake up option in the Clock app. On the next screen which says Sleep Is Off, click on Turn On. Use the slider to modify the Wake Up alarm based on the sleep goal. For example, if bedtime is usually at 11PM, the Wake Up alarm should be set to 7AM to get the recommended eight hours of sleep. Once a Wake Up alarm has been set, it can be modified within the Clock app by clicking on Change. Users can drag the bed icon to change their bedtime or the bell icon to change their wake up time.
To turn off a Wake Up alarm, tap on it in the Clock app and scroll down to turn off the toggle. After tapping on Done, select Change Next Alarm Only or Change This Schedule. Tapping on the latter will open up the Health app where more changes to a particular sleep schedule can be made. If a user wants to turn off the Wake Up alarm entirely, they will need to tap on the Change button, and then Edit Sleep Schedule in Health. In the Health app, users can either delete a particular sleep schedule on an iPhone, or turn off all Sleep Schedules by tapping on the green toggle.
